A weather report issued Saturday says fresh to strong winds are likely in most parts of the country, reaching their peak from Tuesday to Thursday, ranging in speed from 20-30 knots and reaching a high of 38 knots in some places at times, especially during the day.
The wave height will be 5ft to 8ft, rising to 12ft in some areas occasionally.
The northwesterly winds, local known as Bawarih, are usually associated with low visibility – dropping to 2km or less due to blowing dust and sand.
The weather during this period is generally hot with dusty conditions prevailing.
Temperatures during the day will range from the early- to mid-40Cs across the country, and exceeding that in the central and southern areas.
The Met department has urged people to be cautious and avoid sea activities in view of the expected conditions, as well as to follow latest updates through its official social media accounts.
