Islamabad - In implementation of the directives of the Amir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, a shipment of medical Aids sent by Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) arrived to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, in support from the State of Qatar to Pakistan's efforts in combating the novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
The aid includes 50 ventilators and anti-COVID-19 medications. The air was delivered in coordination with the State of Qatar's embassy in Islamabad.
Officials from the medical units in the Pakistani army were in reception of the shipment at the airport in Islamabad.
Director-General of QFFD HE Khalifa Al Kuwari said that the aid is very significant in building on the State of Qatar's big efforts in combatting the impact of the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic, noting the great difficulties the pandemic has posed on everyone in all aspects.
Al Kuwari added that the State of Qatar is leading the line in terms of providing contributions in facing the pandemic that threatens everyone, stressing that the State of Qatar under its wise leadership did not hesitate in helping all friendly nations in containing the spread of the virus.
For his part, HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Islamic Republic of Pakistan said that the State of Qatar never neglected its humanitarian role towards friendly countries when protecting the society internally from the threat of the virus.
His Excellency noted that the State of Qatar reiterated its solidarity with all friendly nations during the COVID-19 crisis, and dedicated all its capabilities to provide support. He highlighted that the State of Qatar, since the beginning of the COVID-19 crisis, provided urgent medical aid to 80 countries, in addition to other international institutions.
The medical aid comes in the framework of the State of Qatar's policy of supporting the spread of the virus, which represents a joint threat to all countries all over the world.
It also stems from the country's sense of international support, and reflects Qatar's commitment to supporting friendly countries overcome this crisis.
