DOHA: The Ministry of Education has announced that it is not mandatory to wear face masks in schools in Qatar starting tomorrow, September 1.
Based on the decision announced today by the Cabinet, the Ministry said that students, teachers and administrators, in all kindergartens, as well as public and private schools, are no longer required to wear masks inside the campus/classrooms.
In a Cabinet meeting earlier today, a decision was also made to scrap the use of face masks in closed public places, except when citizens and residents are inside health facilities or when using public transportation. This takes effect from tomorrow as well.
However, all employees and workers whose nature of work requires being in closed places and communicating with customers must wear masks during their work period.
