On Qatar's handling of the coronavirus (Covid-19) crisis, Dehghani expressed his admiration for what the country has done through its various agencies, noting that the Qatari government and the sectors that took up the challenge of responding to the pandemic worked through two main tracks in order to contain the crisis, control it, and reduce its economic repercussions.
He added that the first track was carried out through careful planning and the use of scientific methods, and the second was the organisation and firmness in implementing the plans to confront this pandemic.
Dehghani congratulated the Qatar government and all frontliners for their progress in defeating economic challenges during this difficult period, and noted that this would not have happened without the adoption of plans and programmes based on modern scientific data, especially as many countries are still suffering from the negative effects of the pandemic on their economies.
He said that Qatar’s economy was able to overcome this stage and take the path of recovery and economic growth.
The ambassador expressed his hope that the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 will be organised perfectly, as Qatar's success in organising this tournament is important to the region and its countries.
All indications show that Qatar has prepared the necessary requirements to organise the tournament in a great way, Dehghani said, adding that the infrastructure and stadiums built during the preparations for the World Cup can help make Qatar a centre for regional and international sporting events, which will positively affect the overall sporting situation in the region.
On behalf of the people and government of Iran, the ambassador congratulated His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani, His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa al-Thani, and the dear people of Qatar on the occasion of the National Day.
