Doha: Tickets for Lusail Super Cup, which is seen as a dress rehearsal for the World Cup Qatar 2022, will be sold out in the next 48 hours said CEO of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 Nasser Al Khater.
Al Khater told Qatar News Agency on a live stream on Twitter that 8,000 tickets were sold in the first hour of the sales launch, and a total of 60,000 Lusail Super Cup tickets were sold, as of yesterday, August 24, 2022. He added that the rest set will be sold within the next 48 hours.
The Lusail Super Cup brings together the Egyptian and Saudi league champions on September 9 at the opening of the World Cup's largest stadium with 80,000 fans capacity.
The Qatar 2022 CEO explained that the Lusail Super Cup will be the World Cup's dress rehearsal, as the match will see the introduction of a number of World Cup-related initiatives, most notably the Hayya card.
He highlighted the high demand for match tickets, which will be accompanied by a large concert. To date, superstar Amr Diab is confirmed to perform live on the night of the match. He also added that the Hayya card will also be used with transport buses for fans wanting to reach the stadium.
Al Khater added that a detailed announcement will be made and sent to all ticket holders.
