Doha: Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Qatar H E Arman Issagaliyev has said that Kazakhstan introduced a visa-free regime with 65 countries of the world, including Qatar.
“Qatar Airways operates four direct flights a week from Doha to Almaty. This is especially convenient for citizens and residents of Qatar, who can spend the weekend in Kazakhstan and return to work on weekdays,” said the Ambassador.
He was addressing a roadshow under the theme ‘Tourist opportunities of Kazakhstan’ in Doha, organised by the national company ‘Kazakh Tourism’ within the framework of the exhibition ‘Hospitality Qatar’ at DECC on Tuesday.
The event was attended by Secretary of the Maslikhat of the Republic of Kazakhstan Bahadur Madaliyev, as well as representatives of Visit Almaty, SkyWay and the Department of Tourism and External Relations of Shymkent.
Hospitality Qatar is the only event of its kind in Qatar, which enjoys the support of the country’s main tourism stakeholders, such as Qatar Tourism and Qatar Airways, and gathers under one roof all the main groups of market buyers, including government agencies, private investors and project owners. During the event, the organisers paid special attention to the presentation of urban destinations and presented the tourist opportunities of Almaty and Shymkent.
As a result of the meeting, cooperation agreements were signed between the SkyWay tour operator with Mosafer Travel & Tourism and Maps & Vogs Holiday companies.
In addition, a proposal was raised to liberalise the entry of Qatari residents to Kazakhstan. “The development of tourism industry in our country is an important priority of the Strategy of Kazakhstan, which is located in the heart of Eurasia, at the crossroads connecting the largest countries of Asia and Europe,” said the Ambassador.
As it is known, he said, when choosing a country to visit, tourists are attracted by natural landscapes, geographical features, cultural heritage, developed infrastructure and security.
“In this regard, Kazakhstan occupies a worthy place among countries with a favourable tourist image. Kazakhstan has unique opportunities for almost all types of tourism. Among them are visiting cultural and historical sites, observing rare species of flora and fauna, relaxing in beautiful places while receiving treatment for many types of diseases, as well as getting an unforgettable experience from outdoor activities.”
He said there are many unique nature reserves and national parks in our country, more than 100 wellness centers, as well as more than nine thousand archaeological and historical monuments. “The northern part of the Great Silk Road passes through the territory of the country. In addition, we have facilities for ski tourism,” said the Ambassador.
