Doha, Qatar: The 13th edition of the Katara Traditional Dhow Festival is set to kick off at 3:30 pm today on Katara Beach, running through December 2.
This year's festival boasts a diverse program featuring the active participation of 12 countries, including Qatar, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the State of Kuwait, the Sultanate of Oman, the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Republic of Iraq, Palestine, Portugal, Iran, Tanzania, and India.
The event promises a blend of artistic and cultural activities, along with traditional marine competitions scheduled to take place on Katara Beach No. 2. Among these competitions are the traditional rowing competition on December 1 at 3:30 pm and the traditional sailing competition on December 2.
Visitors can explore various marine museums showcasing rare collectibles, offering a vivid and comprehensive depiction of the traditional life of earlier generations during the era of pearl diving. Additionally, numerous handicraft shops on Katara Beach will display a wide array of items, allowing skilled craftsmen to demonstrate their expertise.
The festival also caters to younger audiences with workshops and entertaining activities designed specifically for children.
