Through this innovative service, Kahramaa customers would be able to "enjoy an easier and faster-than-ever monthly bill payments experience", the corporation said in a statement.
To benefit from this facilitated service, customers will authorise Kahramaa, "once and for all", to deduct due amounts directly from their bank accounts monthly, and there will be no need for any further steps.
Commercial Bank will carry out all necessary co-ordination processes with Kahramaa to finalise this authorisation and put the monthly debiting process into effect.
This service will facilitate the customer’s experience and provide a convenient method of payment.
It will also facilitate Kahramaa’s fees collection and financial settlement processes, the statement noted.
Jaber Hamad al-Nabit, director of Financial Affairs and the Customer Services Department at Kahramaa, said this service came in the context of the corporation's continued efforts to improve customer services and streamline payment processes through such advanced electronic tools.
“In the framework of our distinguished partnership with Commercial Bank, and to provide the best services for our customers, we launch this e-service that represents a new step towards digital transformation, an approach adopted by the corporation in all aspects of its work,” al-Nabit said.
“Such a step reflects our corporation’s firm belief in the importance of joint action and co-operation in order to develop our work and provide support to all sectors in Qatar. Kahramaa spares no effort to enhance institutional competence and improve electricity and water services to achieve global leadership in the field in line with Qatar National Vision 2030," the official added.
Raju Buddhiraju, executive general manager and head of Wholesale Banking at Commercial Bank, said: “This service is in line with Commercial Bank’s strategy aimed at providing smart digital banking solutions for customers, allowing them to enjoy quick and safe payment services to enhance their banking experience."
Khalifa al-Rayes, senior AGM and head of Private Clients - Business Development at Commercial Bank, added: “We are pleased to launch the Direct Debit Service in collaboration with Kahramaa.
This smart, innovative and completely digital service reflects CBQ’s continuous support for Qatar’s vision of achieving a paperless future.
“Taking this into consideration, Commercial Bank realises the important role it plays in delivering products and services that can help make a substantial difference in our shared quest to achieve sustainability."
The Direct Debit Service is available for both CBQ clients and customers of other banks in Qatar, according to the Kahramaa statement.
