The squadron is an important element in enhancing the joint operational and co-ordination capabilities between the Qatari Amiri Air Force and the Royal Air Force.
It also helps increase co-operation in peacekeeping efforts and military efforts in the future.
The joint squadron, which has the logo of the Qatar Amiri Air Force, will enable Qatari and UK pilots to train together using the latest edition of Hawk T2.
The Hawk aircraft uses a state-of-the-art simulation that works and feels like the latest generation of fighter jets.
The inauguration was attended on the Qatari side by Commander of Qatar Amiri Air Force Major General (Pilot) Jassim bin Mohamed al-Mannai, and a number of ranking officers at the Qatari Armed Forces.
The inauguration was also attended by CEO of BAE Systems Dr Charles Woodburn.
