Doha, Qatar: Hukoomi, the Qatar e-Government Portal, has outlined the steps for obtaining a vehicle exit permit for travel outside the country when the vehicle is driven by someone other than the owner. This process can be completed through the Ministry of Interior's website or the Metrash2 app.
According to Hukoomi, "Citizens, residents, and companies can apply to the General Directorate of Traffic at the Ministry of Interior (MoI) to obtain a vehicle exit permit after specifying the authorized driver."
Here are the steps to follow:
- Log in to the MOI e-services portal using your smartcard.
- Choose the transaction type ("Personal" for smart card owners or "Company Name" for authorized individuals).
- Navigate to "Traffic Services," then "Vehicles," and select "Vehicle Exit Permit."
- Provide the details of the vehicle for which the exit permit is needed.
- Enter the QID of the authorized driver and confirm the number.
- Select the duration of the permit, with applicable fees varying based on the selected duration.
- Proceed to pay the applicable fees through the provided bank screen.
- For additional vehicle exit permits, click on "New Entry" and repeat the above steps.
The fees for this service are as follows:
- Single trip exit permit: QR5.
- Multiple trips within three months: QR25.
- Multiple trips within six months: QR50.
Hukoomi emphasizes that users must possess a smart card to utilize this service, which is available instantly at any time. Additionally, users can access this service through the Metrash2 app for added convenience.
