The qualifying classes saw the participation of nearly 300 horses. Top three winners from each class have qualified for the Title Show Championships.
KIAHF 2022, which began on February 2 comprising the Arabian Peninsula Show, The Auction, and The Title Show, is organised by Katara – the Cultural Village, in association with Qatar Equestrian Federation, Qatar Racing & Equestrian Club, and Qatar Foundation.
Katara general manager Prof Dr Khalid bin Ibrahim al-Sulaiti, also the chairman of the organising committee of the festival, honoured all the sponsors of KIAHF 2022 yesterday.
KIAHF carries a total prize of QR17,083,500 of which QR13,990,000 is for the Title Show, besides many in-kind prizes including cars from NBK and luxury watches from Ali Bin Ali Luxury.
The qualifying action yesterday saw Donna Molta Bella SRA of Al Jassimiya Farm (Mares 7-10 Years Old (Class 8), Nada Al Shahania of Al Shahania Stud (Mares 11+ Years Old (Class 9), Bashir Al Bashir of Al Basheer Stud (Stallions 4-6 Years Old (Class 10)), EKS Mansour of Al Shahania Stud (Stallions 7-10 Years Old (Class 11)) emerge as best podium finishers.
Horses are judged for their type, head and neck, body and topline, legs, and movement by an 11-member international jury according to the Rules for Ties and Championships listed by ECAHO (European Conference of Arab Horse Organisations).
