Hayyakum event at Al Shaqab this weekend

The second edition of the 'Hayyakum at Al Shaqab', offering 'an exceptional experience of the Equine world' will take place on Friday and Saturday, from 3pm to 7pm.

Visitors will have the opportunity to meet the champion horse (Malibu) who carried Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad al-Thani to the torch during the 2006 Doha Asian Games opening ceremony, a statement explained.

By offering educational and fun entertainment to families, Al Shaqab aims to introduce beginners to the equestrian world while relying on its inclusive learning and entertainment programmes.

Children will get to ride horses, especially since the event seeks to highlight and promote the Qatari heritage on Arabian horses by instilling a love for horses and encouraging the riding sport.

Arabian horse riding, pony riding, horse carriages are among the activities at the event. A variety of dining options, including restaurants and cafes, will also be available during the event. Qatar Television will also offer many competitions and awards to children.

Hayyakum visitors will have the opportunity to watch Al Shaqab Riding Academy Show, the statement added.
