The Supreme Committee for Delivery & Legacy (SC) has confirmed that the Hayya Card will be the only gateway for fans wishing to enter Qatar during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and it includes all citizens, residents and fans from abroad.

Executive director of the Hayya platform, Saeed al-Kuwari, told a press conference on Thursday that all those wishing to enter the country during the tournament are required to obtain a digital Hayya Card, which will be issued on the purchase of a ticket.

He said the committee has already received many requests for the card through the platform, and added that all local and international fans attending the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 matches will have to apply for it. All international fans must also book their accommodation after purchasing their tickets to enter Qatar and attend matches in the stadiums, while citizens and residents need to enter the match ticket number, ID number and date of birth to obtain the card.

Launched in March, the Hayya Card serves as an entry permit to Qatar. In addition to allowing entry into stadiums, it makes its holder eligible for free public transportation. It will also allow fans to attend a number of activities accompanying the competition.

Al-Kuwari said the committee worked on facilitating the process of applying for the card by using the latest technology. He explained that fans from outside the country will need to buy FIFA tickets and, book their accommodation in order to apply for the Hayya Card. He added that fans inside the country, on the other hand, will just need to buy the tickets.

The Hayya portal can be found at https://hayya.qatar2022.qa/

Regarding the fans of neighbouring countries who wish to attend and return on the same day, al-Kuwari explained that there is an option to stay for one day, and this option will be available through the platform. Service centres will be launched and announced soon, during which Hayya Cards will be printed.

For his part, executive director of the SC Housing Department Omar Abdulrahman al-Jaber said accommodation options such as apartments, villas, apartment complexes, floating hotels, fan villages and holiday homes are currently being offered through the official platform (https://www.qatar2022.qa/book).

He noted that each person residing in Qatar can receive 10 people, who are relatives and friends, by registering their data on the official residence platform, while the guest must put the host's data on the Hayya digital platform to obtain it directly. He noted that the number of registered users on the platform is constantly being updated, revealing that the platform received 3,000 requests on its launch day.

He added that the average price of accommodation ranged from $80 to $180 depending on its location and the type of accommodation.

Al-Jaber said the committee is providing high-quality accommodation for World Cup fans through the hotels available in the country with 3-5-star rating. He also highlighted that Barwa Real Estate Company will offer 28,000 rooms during the competition, in addition to giant cruise ship hotels at Hamad Port, providing 4,000 rooms in two ships to enable the accommodation of more than 8,000 fans, as well as residential villages in four locations, including Lusail, that will provide 2,500 housing units, among other options.
