Doha: Most parts of Qatar received heavy rainfall last night, while some areas of the country also reported hailstorm and according to Meteorology Department thundery rain is expected to continue till tomorrow.
Mesaieed city recorded the highest rainfall of 34.5mm rain, while Doha recorded 11.2 mm and Al Wakra 18.9 mm, Qatar Meteorology Department (QMD) said. Hamad International Airport recorded 8.3 mm rainfall.
On social media, many people were seen sharing pictures and videos of hail fall in Mesaieed last night. One video taken inside a factory in the Mesaieed Industrial Area showed a large amount of hail.
Meanwhile, QMD said in their daily report that the weather inshore until 6pm today (Tuesday) will be partly cloudy to cloudy with a chance of rain maybe thundery at places and blowing dust at times.
“Cloudy skies over the country as chance of rain expected to continue until tomorrow morning becoming thundery at times accompanied with strong wind. Kindly take extra care and avoid all marine activities,” QMD tweeted.
Offshore, it will be partly cloudy to cloudy with scattered rain, maybe thundery at times, report added, warning of expected thunder rain associated with strong wind and high sea.
