Al Khor and Al Thakhira Municipality’s Health Control Section conducted 484 inspection tours on food outlets and facilities, and a number of the major food production within its jurisdiction during February. The inspection campaign resulted in issuing seven reports for violation of Law No 8 of 1990.
In addition, 1,470 carcasses of slaughtered livestock were checked to certify them as fit for human consumption. Accordingly, five carcasses were destroyed, besides around 280kg of fish at Al Khor Fish Market.
Nearly 7kg of foodstuff at different food outlets were destroyed, also for being unfit for human consumption.
A total of 62 different food samples were sent to the central laboratories. These were taken from different food manufacturers under the municipality.
