Doha, Qatar: Ethiopian Airlines, Africa’s leading airline, recently inaugurated their new office in Doha.
The office was inaugurated by the Ambassador of Nigeria H E Yakubu Abdullahi Ahmed, Ambassador of South Africa H E Saad Cachalia, Ambassador of Ghana H E Mohammed Nurudeen Ismaila, the Deputy Ambassador of Ethiopia Samuel Lemma and other dignitaries.
As part of its expansion strategy and given the strategic importance of Qatar to its global operations, Ethiopian Airlines opened its office in Doha over seven years ago. Since then, the airline has emerged as the favourite of many, especially Africans in the diaspora, flying to over 134 international destinations in the five continents in Africa, Asia, Europe, South and North America.
Ethiopian Airlines has continued to consolidate its position as Africa’s leading airline after the early success of its strategic plan (Vision 2025) by currently implementing a 15-year strategic plan called Vision 2035.
Speaking at the opening of the office, Surafel Saketa, Ethiopian Airlines’ Qatar Country Manager, said, “The new corporate office in Qatar is part of the airline’s expansion within the region. The Middle East travel and tourism sector is gaining pace as the relationship between the region, especially Qatar, and Africa continues to grow by leaps and bounds. Ethiopian Airlines has gone from strength to strength, and this new office will help the airline achieve long-term success.”

The new expansive office premise is centrally and strategically located in Global Business Centre, Corniche Road (Opposite to Doha International Airport -Arrival), and include a state-of-the-art, multilingual contact centre, which will offer Ethiopian Airlines customers dedicated support from Saturday to Thursday from 8am to 8pm.
During the World Cup, Ethiopian Airlines brought in about 8,000 fans, spectators, and participants, with most of them being from the five qualified African nations as well as fans from all over the globe, including Argentina and Brazil, thus reaffirming that Ethiopian Airlines was the most reliable gateway from Africa into Qatar for the tournament.
Ethiopian Airlines, over the past 75 years, has experienced impressive and consistent growth. It is the largest airline in Africa, and its fleet today consists of 127 aircraft. These include some of the most modern and efficient twinjets in the skies, namely the Boeing 787 and Airbus A350. With this fleet, Ethiopian serves the fourth-largest number of countries of any airline. Established in 1946, the 75-year-old Ethiopian Airlines (ET) pioneered and successfully
implemented many airline partnerships in Africa.
