His Highness the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad al-Thani met the Chairman and CEO of French Total Company, Patrick Pouyanne, at Al Bahr Palace yesterday. Patrick Pouyanne called on the Emir to greet him on the occasion of his visit to Qatar to attend the inauguration ceremony of the North Oil Company, the operator and the new developer of Al Shaheen Oil Field, which is a partnership between Qatar Petroleum and France’s Total Company. Relations between Qatar and Total Company, and the prospects for strengthening and developing them were discussed during the meeting.

Separately, HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani also met the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Total, Patrick Pouyanne, and his accompanying delegation. They reviewed bilateral relations between Qatar and Total, and ways to strengthen and develop these relations.
