HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Dr Mohamed Abdul Wahed Ali al-Hammadi met the Chairman of the Council of Higher Education of Turkey Mohamed Yekta Sarac yesterday.
The meeting discussed aspects of co-operation between the two countries in the field of higher education. HE al-Hammadi praised the distinguished relations between Qatar and Turkey in various fields, especially the education sector.
Also, he touched on the challenges facing higher education in light of the coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic and how countries sought to develop their online systems in line with this new challenge.
President of Qatar University, Dr Hassan bin Rashid al-Derham, who attended the meeting, praised the distinguished relations between Qatar University and a large number of universities, research institutes, and higher education institutions in Turkey, and the effective role of the Arabic for Non-Native Speakers Centre annually, as it attracts Turkish students who wish to learn the Arabic language. Also, he provided an overview of the size of educational relations and ways to support and develop them.
President of Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) Dr Ahmad M Hasnah, who attended the meeting, praised the distinguished relations between HBKU and a large number of Turkish universities and provided an overview of their co-operation. – QNA
