Doha Municipality inspections ensure food safety

Throughout the Eid al-Adha holidays, Doha Municipality's Health Control Section carried out some intensive inspection campaigns on the various food outlets, retailers and restaurants, covering Souq Waqif, Msheireb Area, Katara - the Cultural Village, the Pearl Island outlets and the hotels within Doha.

The inspections were launched in June and continued throughout the Eid holidays, with the inspectors ensuring that all outlets were compliant with the food safety standards. The evening shift inspection campaigns focused on groceries, supermarkets and shopping malls while the morning shift focused on the vegetables and fruits shops, and sweets and nuts shop, in addition to the shops selling meat, fish and poultry and the other consumer complexes.

The section also received complaints round-the-clock and promptly addressed them in addition to holding awareness campaigns on food safety, and the importance of abiding by the regulations of the relevant law.
