The Maritime Customs Department at Hamad Port has foiled yet another attempt to smuggle a huge amount of 'tambaku' (chewing tobacco) into Qatar. This was announced by the General Authority of Customs (GAC) on Thursday in a tweet.
"Maritime customs at Hamad Port thwarted the smuggling of 4,423 parcels of banned tobacco substance. The contraband was hidden inside a shipment of hand brooms and the total weight of the prohibited substance was 5528.75kg," GAC said in the tweet.
