Doha: Weather inshore until 6 am will be partly cloudy to cloudy at times with a chance of scattered rain may be thundery at times, the Department of Meteorology said in its daily weather report, warning of thundery rain at places associated with strong wind at times.
Thunderstorms of variable intensity continue in Doha and most areas of the country accompanied with strong wind and hail at times. Old Airport and Thumama area witnessed rain accompanied with intense fall of hail for a few minutes early in the evening.
“Kindly avoid all marine activities due to thunderstorms and unsettled weather conditions across the country,” Qatar Meteorology Department said on Twitter.
According to latest radar image, thunderstorms that affected Doha have moved eastward offshore with continued scattered thundery rain along southeastern coastal arenas, they added.
Offshore, it will be partly cloudy with chance of scattered rain may be thundery at times, the report added, warning of thundery rain associated with strong wind and high sea.
Wind inshore will be southeasterly to easterly 10 to 20 knot, gusting to 28 knot at some places at times.
Offshore, it will be easterly to southeasterly 10 to 20 knot, gusting to 25 knot with thundery rain.
Visibility will be 4 to 8 or 3 kilometer or less at places at times.
Sea state inshore will be 2 to 3 feet, rises to 4 feet with thundery rain. Offshore, it will be 3 to 6 feet, rises to 8 feet with thundery rain.
