The Ministry of Municipality and Environment (MME)’s General Cleanliness Department has stressed that it is making all necessary preparations for Eid al-Adha, particularly in view of the gradual lifting of Covid-19 restrictions and the opening of a number of prayer yards and mosques for Eid prayers. Field teams have been cleaning and sanitising such places and their surrounding areas across the country so that they are ready to receive worshippers in accordance with the plan that is set to cover all such premises before Eid al-Adha starts, the MME has said in a statement. Meanwhile, efforts are on to maintain the cleanliness of beaches around the country and increasing the number of garbage containers there. A team of workers has been assigned the task of following up on work progress there round the clock. As for public parks and gardens and the Corniche, well-equipped field teams started work yesterday to keep them in the best shape for the convenience of the public.
Similarly, the teams have been sweeping and washing all main and internal streets around the country. The MME has urged people to maintain the cleanliness of their areas and properly dispose of garbage in designated containers, and avoid the random throwing of waste at public places.
