However, as the Eid holidays this year are near to the beginning of the month and consequently, payday for most people, customers are willing to spend more.

Traditional popular souqs received the largest numbers of customers, Qataris in particular, such as Souq Waqif, Souq Al Ali, Souq Al Jabr, and Souq Al Deera.

Shop owners and operators stressed that they are keen to give their customers the best offers possible and achieve better sales to make up for the periods of slumps over the past seasons.

Salesman Mohamed Sharafeldin said that the sales of men’s accessories and clothes have increased considerably over the past week.

He said that prices have not increased over the past years: the white head covering for men is priced between QR20-150 depending on the quality, brand, and origins, while men's perfumes start from QR40.

Salesman Fraidan Zaid said that the prices at the traditional souqs are stable, with the variation in prices of the same items often falling within the range of a couple of riyals.

He noted that customers prefer such places due to the concentration of many shops selling different items.

Salesman Fadlurahman Ahmed stressed that businesses are keen to attract customers at this season, with some offering good discounts to encourage repeat business.

These traditional souqs also offer custom tailoring, with a wide selection of fabrics and tailoring styles.
