Doha: Minister of Education and Higher Education H E Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulwahed Al Hammadi chaired yesterday the first meeting of the Board of Trustees of 15th Scientific Excellence Award.
During the meeting, the main activities of the award were reviewed, and a number of related issues were discussed such as setting up award committees, budget, adoption of award documents and other latest development.
The Scientific Excellence Day is held annually under the patronage of Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. The Scientific Excellence Award honours the scientific excellence of the people of the State of Qatar in various fields.
The award aims at spreading culture of creativity and excellence in the Qatari society, pushing students to further excellence and outstanding in educational achievement.
It creates integration between individual and institutional efforts in order to improve the outcomes of the educational process and bring them to international levels and standards.
The Board of Trustees of the award is the body responsible for supervising, following up and implementing necessary policies to achieve the award’s objectives.
Among the tasks carried out by the award’s board of trustees are approving the award documents, approving the award’s financial and administrative system, forming different committees according to the award’s requirements, and any other matters that the award board of trustees deems necessary.
