Meanwhile, Yousef al-Khulaifi, deputy head of the organising committee and director of the Agricultural Affairs Department at the Ministry of Municipality, described AgriteQ as a good opportunity for expanding co-operation and exchange of expertise between local and international companies and institutions, besides enhancing investment in agricultural projects and the initiatives that contribute towards increasing local agricultural production.
It would be also a good platform to explore new innovations in the field that would further enhance growth and productivity.
He said that the exhibition will see the signing of a number of agreements and memorandums of understanding (MoUs) among government entities and the private sector to support the agriculture and environment sectors, including an MoU with Qatar Charity and Qatar Red Crescent Society to support the project of distributing the dates of producing farms within Qatar and abroad.
Al-Khulaifi said the event will see the participation of more than 150 companies in Qatar, including 60 from the field of agriculture, 50 from food industries and 25 from the field of environment, in addition to some companies engaged in the livestock and veterinary fields.
Further, 80 local farms will participate in the event along with 50 local producers of honey and dates as well as 10 major gardening companies.
The official noted that the large participation of commercial delegations and representatives of chambers of commerce from some countries, in addition to the participation of embassies and local and international companies, makes the 2022 edition the largest since the launch of the two exhibitions.
This confirms the importance that the agricultural, food production and environment sectors enjoy in Qatar, as well as the interest of Qatar and international companies and investors in these sectors.
Farhoud Hadi al-Hajri, director of public relations at the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change, said that organising the 3rd EnviroteQ comes within the framework of supporting efforts made by Qatar to protect the environment and achieve environmental sustainability in accordance with its National Vision 2030.
He explained that the exhibition aims to facilitate keeping pace with global developments and technologies in terms of environmental sustainability.
The official said that the event will be an effective opportunity to highlight the role of Qatar at the global level in preserving the environment across all its elements, as well as emphasise its clear approach and strategic objectives in preserving the environment locally and regionally.
Al-Hajri said the environmental exhibition will provide an opportunity for the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to highlight its role and plans in protecting the environment, achieving sustainability and confronting climate change.
The 3rd EnviroteQ is an important platform for all governmental and non-governmental sectors in the country, as well as for brotherly and friendly countries and specialised international and local companies, to exchange experiences and showcase the latest means in the field of environmental protection, as well as the presentation of the best innovations in the field of sustainable development, which include environment and energy, waste management, water management, renewable energy production and environmental risk management.
