Aster Hospital Doha, a division of Aster DM Healthcare, celebrated the 5th Qatar Patient Safety Week to raise awareness about the importance of safety among patients and healthcare employees for a healthy hospital environment.
Qatar Patient Safety Week is an annual event organised by the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) at a national level as an initiative and an educational and awareness campaign at spreading the concept of patient safety among the workforce in healthcare. This year’s theme was “Raise Your Voice for Patient Safety”.
Aster Hospital conducted a series of activities. The launch ceremony was attended by Shimous Mohamed Elamin Shams Eldin, Dhouha Ammar Hamdani, Dr Nader Ahmed Abbas Badr and Dr Rasmeh Ali Salameh al-Huneiti who represented MoPH, in the presence of Dr Sameer Moopen, chief executive officer, Aster DM Healthcare Qatar, Kapil Chib, chief operating officer, Aster Hospital Doha, Dr Nora Vaitkiene, consultant-Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Dr Sharath Shetty, specialist-Urology, Dr Mahesh Patel, senior manager – Quality Assurance and other officials of Aster Qatar.
Aster Hospital also featured an Aster Pavilion at the 5th Patient Safety Week organised by the MoPH which witnessed the visit of HE the Minister of Public Health Dr Hanan Mohamed al-Kuwari along with other dignitaries. During the week, concepts around patient safety and quality in the face of emergencies and adversity, were explored as a prerequisite for achieving universal health coverage.
