Doha: The Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Prime Minister of Malaysia H E Dr Mahathir Mohamad held an official talks session at the Amiri Diwan on Thursday.
During the session, both sides discussed the close bilateral relations between the two countries and ways of developing and bolstering them in different spheres, especially in economy, trade, investments, tourism and education. The session also discussed a host of regional and international issues.
Following the talks session, the Amir and the Malaysian Prime Minister witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the governments of the two countries on the establishment of a high-level joint committee between Qatar and Malaysia.
The talks and signing ceremony were attended by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and a number of Their Excellences ministers, while on the Malaysian side they were attended by members of the official delegation accompanying HE Dr. Mahathir Mohamad.
Prime Minister of Malaysia arrived earlier at the Amiri Diwan where he was accorded an official reception ceremony.
