Doha: Amir H H Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani crowned the winners of His Highness Sword Equestrian Festival yesterday.
His Highness awarded H E Sheikh Khalifa bin Mohammed bin Khalifa Al Thani the golden sword following the victory of Mon’nia in the eighth round of the purebred Arabian horse.
The Amir awarded Ali bin Hamad Al Attiyah with His Highness award after Noor Al Hawa’s victory of the seventh round of purebred horses.
The Amir awarded the silver sword to Abdullah bin Fahd Al Attiyah for Munir Du Soleil’s victory of the sixth round of purebred Arabian horses, and the Shalfa to Shuail bin Khalifa Al Kuwari after King Pacha won the first place in the fifth round.
The Amir handed over prizes to the winners in the jumping competition. They included: Hamad Nasser Al Qadi (first-place winner), Nasser Al Ghazali (second-place), and Saeed Nasser Al Qadi (third-place).
The Amir also awarded prizes to the winners of the first four places in the heritage race. They included: Mohammed Kamaan Saeed Al Khayarin, Obaid Hamad Saleh Al Marri, Abdullah Rashid Al Hajri, and Mohammed Misfer Al Dossari.
The Amir also honoured the companies sponsoring the festival.
