Alfardan Group, Elite Paper Recycling join hands

Alfardan Group and Elite Paper Recycling have joined hands to promote environmental sustainability and recycling in Qatar. This agreement includes national and international public outreach, awareness campaigns in the media, and educational programmes.

Elite Paper Recycling, with its affiliate Elite Waste Recycling Management, is an eco-friendly company recycling all types of paper. It also provides quality service solutions to the corrugated carton industry, working towards protecting the environment.

With the support of Elite, Alfardan Group will make an increased effort to recycle its wastepaper cardboard and all other types of waste.

Omar Hussain Alfardan, president and CEO of Alfardan Group, said: "This sustainability initiative is in line with the goals and mission of our Corporate Social Responsibility, to integrate environment-friendly procedures in the daily work of Alfardan Group and its subsidiaries everywhere."

In particular, the parties have agreed to jointly develop initiatives to promote recycling and to raise awareness of environmental issues among the community, encouraging the participation of both the public and private sectors.

Alfardan Group will also endeavour to facilitate long term and short-term Corporate Social Responsibility activities such as public awareness programs, sponsorship and networking on environmental sustainability and recycling.

Abdulla Ibrahim al-Sowaidi, chairman of Elite Waste Recycling Management, said: "I am honoured to announce a unique partnership with Alfardan Group in terms of recycling and sustainability and we are incredibly happy with this as it serves the Qatar National Vision 2030, especially Pillar 4 of Environmental Development. We are grateful for Alfardan Group's trust in us, especially as a start-up SME and for believing in young entrepreneurs. We are looking forward to following this MOU with effective CSR programmes to raise awareness on sustainability and recycling together.

This Memorandum of Understanding shall continue for five years and facilitate waste collection at all Alfardan subsidiaries.
