Shoppers will not be allowed at Al Meera branches without face masks from April 24, it has been announced.
Al Meera Consumer Goods Company issued a notice in this regard on social media Tuesday, requesting customers to bring their own face masks.
"In light of the continuing spread of novel coronavirus (Covid-19) and in line with Al Meera’s precautionary measures to provide a safe shopping experience, we will no longer allow shoppers without face masks in our branches, effective April 24th," the notice says.
"Please ensure that you bring your face masks with you. We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause. Thank you for understanding," it adds.
Al Meera has taken a number of precautionary measures to curb the spread of Covid-19 and provide a safe shopping experience. These include placing temperature screening devices at its stores, not allowing children under the age of 12 to enter its branches, and more.
