Ajyal Film Festival entries closing Thursday

The 2022 Special Edition of the Ajyal Film Festival Jury Experience, being hosted from October 1–8 by Doha Film Festival, will close submissions to the competition Thursday. Applicants will be advised about the status of their entry by August 25.

The Ajyal Jury Competition, the core component of the festival, presents jurors aged 8-25 with the opportunity to decide the winners.

Each of the three Ajyal Juries awards a Best Film prize to their favourite short and feature-length films, for a total of six awards. The directors of the winning films are granted funding toward their next film.

This year’s format is different as the screenings will be exclusively for Ajyal Jurors. Selected local films will also become an integral part of the main competition for 2022 and automatically entered into the next Made in Qatar Programme, returning in 2023.

Films submitted to the Festival shall be selected for the appropriate section(s) at the Festival’s sole discretion. They are Mohaq (jurors 8-12 years), Hilal (jurors 13-17 years) and Bader (jurors 18-25 years).
