Doha: The age limit for Covid-19 vaccine in Qatar in the first phase has been reduced from 70 years to 65 years and above, the Ministry of Public Health announced today.
Also, people 65 years and above who have not yet been contacted can now call the hotline 40277077 to book an appointment.
The three categories who are eligible for vaccine are:
1) People aged 65 years of age and above
2) People with severe chronic conditions
3) Healthcare workers with repeated exposure to COVID-19
People who are eligible for the vaccination at this stage will be contacted directly by the Primary health Care Corporation by SMS or phone call to arrange their appointment.
People 65 years and above who have not yet been contacted can now call the PHCC hotline 40277077 to book an appointment.
Vaccinations at health centers will only be given to people with pre-arranged appointments.
All other community members who do not meet the criteria for the early phase of the campaign are requested to wait until their turn.
"MOPH is working with the pharmaceutical companies to ensure the next shipment of vaccines arrives in Qatar as early as possible in 2021 and everyone who needs to be vaccinated will be able to do so throughout the year." it added.
