The Hamad Injury Prevention Programme (HIPP) has offered advice on how to avoid injuries at home during Ramadan and quarantine.
Dr Rafael Consunji, director, HIPP, listed the tips in a video posted on Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) social media channels.
“For families with young children, we ask parents to assess and make sure that hallways and floors are free of clutter so children do not fall,” he said.
“We ask that you to keep all poisons locked away in cabinets above ground,” he added.
“Most importantly, with a lot of cooking going on during the Ramadan season, we ask that you keep your kitchens kids-free,” he said.
Further, Dr Consunji advised that whenever somebody carries hot liquids or hot food, s/he should put a cover on the containers, and also make sure that the path is clear of children as they walk to the dinner table.
The HIPP is a part of HMC’s Hamad Trauma Centre.
