ACTA signs MoU with Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission

The Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) signed yesterday a memorandum of understanding with the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission, with the aim of strengthening cooperation between the two sides in the field of integrity, transparency and anti-corruption.
The memorandum was signed by the President of the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority, H E Hamad bin Nasser Al Misnad, and the Head of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission, Dr. Ahmed Barak.
On the occasion of the signing of the memorandum, 
H E the President said that the cooperation that was launched with the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission is consistent with the support provided by the wise leadership to the State of Palestine, covering all political, economic and humanitarian fields.
His Excellency pointed out that the relationship between the State of Qatar and the State of Palestine is firm and strong in various political, economic and other fields, stressing that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding aims to exchange experiences and good practices on ways to enhance transparency and integrity and combat corruption.
He emphasised that the signing of the memorandum reflects the aspiration of the authority to launch a strong strategic partnership between the ACTA and the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Authority embodied through the exchange of experiences and the expansion of cooperation in research and training fields, for the benefit of all national authorities in the two countries.
His Excellency stressed the keenness of the ACTA to learn about the diverse experiences of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission and its completed and existing projects, and on possible areas of cooperation, and discuss practical steps to enhance mutual cooperation and exchange experiences and best practices in the coming period.
For his part, the Head of the Palestinian Anti-Corruption Commission, Dr. Ahmed Barak, considered that the memorandum is the result of continuous cooperation between the two sides in all fields.
Dr. Ahmed Barak said that the State of Qatar is supportive of the Palestinian cause and the establishment of the Palestinian state, based on the foundations of democracy and the rule of law, and prevailed by the principles of integrity, accountability and combating corruption.
Dr. Ahmed Barak stressed his country’s keenness to take advantage of the Qatari efforts in this field, appreciating the important Qatari role in putting the United Nations Convention against Corruption into practice, and its initiatives in this field, in particular the Doha Declaration.
