To enhance coordination between national institutions in the field of promoting integrity and transparency, the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority (ACTA) yesterday signed a memorandum of understanding with the International Centre for Sport Security (ICSS).
The MoU aims to enhance bilateral cooperation between ACTA and the ICSS in areas of training and development, preparing and implementing joint training programmes, exchanging practical experiences with an aim of developing quality performance, enhancing integrity and transparency.
The memorandum was signed by President of ACTA, H E Hamad bin Nasser Al Misnad and Chairman of the ICSS, Mohammed bin Hamad Al Hanzab.
“The memorandum comes within the context of the ACTA’s keenness to enhance coordination between national authorities in the field of promoting integrity, transparency, and preventing corruption in the State of Qatar, while also benefiting from national expertise and experiences in strengthening the leadership of Qatar regionally and internationally in this field,” Al Misnad stated.
The event was organised at the Administrative Control and Transparency Authority headquarters. In his speech on this occasion, Al Misnad said that the role of International Centre for Sport Security in strengthening national and international efforts in areas of transparency and integrity in field of sports is remarkable. “It developed many guides and tools in cooperation with the most prominent universities and international institutes.”
“The issues of transparency and integrity in sport are of the utmost important at national and international levels especially considering the success of the leadership of Qatar. As a result, it qualified Qatar to host the most important international sports events, on top of which, the State of Qatar will host the most important and largest global sporting event in 2022,” he added.
For his part, Mohammed bin Hamad Al Hanzab, Founder and Chairman of ICSS, said: “We hope that the MoU will be the first step in establishment of a long-term and fruitful alliance to protect the integrity of sport.” “We are proud to sign a memorandum of understanding with ACTA in a step that provides us with an opportunity to cooperate with the authority. We highly appreciate the steps taken by the Authority in the field of protecting Qatari sports and its institutions in a way that ensures sustainability and reflects the fact that sport is an important component within Qatar’s national vision,” he added.
Under the pact, the two parties have agreed that each party shall provide the other party with a report on their employees’ participation in the training courses and programmes, the evaluation of the participants’ performance, and the evaluation level of the training programs being implemented.
The MoU includes activating joint cooperation between the two parties in several areas, focusing on the issues of transparency and integrity in the sports field, enhancing the role of sports in spreading transparency and integrity, benefiting from joint experiences in the areas of integrity and transparency, and holding courses and training programs.
