9 branches of popular restaurant closed for overpricing on delivery platforms

Doha: The Ministry of Commerce and Industry announced the closure of several branches of Afghan Brothers restaurant for 2 weeks.

The Ministry said on its Twitter account today that the closure was due to increasing their prices on food delivery platforms, thereby deviating from the restaurant menu price and limiting consumers’ choices.

It stated that the violation represented “non-compliance with the principles and controls regarding price increase. Also enforcing the consumer to choose certain items.”.

The branches which have been closed are: Barwa Village, Al Wakra Branch, Al Aziziyah Branch, Al Rayyan Branch, Al Nasr Street, Bin Omran Branch, Airport Street Branch, Umm Salal Muhammed Branch and Al Mirrghab Branch.
