The number of on-arrival visas issued in February has shown a 2.7% increase compared to the previous month.
According to a statement issued by the Ministry of Interior, the total number of on-arrival visas issued in February has reached 72,110 and these were granted to nationals of 90 countries.
The Ministry said that the increase reflects Qatar’s position in the world and the convenient and easy services it provides to visitors and the security and stability it enjoys in addition to its economic status and attractive labour market.
Besides, the General Directorate of Passports was able to complete 1,515,752 different transactions in February.
With 1,053,883 transactions, the Airport Passports Department topped the list.
Meanwhile, the transactions carried out by the Unified Services Department through their service centres came second with 268,375 transactions, while those done through the Expatriate Affairs Department came third with 76,348 transactions.
Through the electronic portals, 208,267 transactions were performed during the same month. The Ministry has called on the public to utilise the digital platforms for all their requirements to save time and effort. (QNA)
