56 returning travellers test Covid-19 positive in Qatar on Dec 3

Doha: Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) today recorded 221 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) and 228 people recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing the total number of people recovered in Qatar to 136,741.

Out of the 221 new cases, 165 are community cases and 56 from travellers returning from abroad.

So far, 239 people died from the coronavirus in Qatar.

All new cases have been placed in isolation and are receiving necessary health care according to their health status.

The total number of positive COVID-19 cases recorded in Qatar is 139,477 and there are 2,497 active cases under treatment.

4,962 people were tested for the first time in the last 24 hours (11,096 tests in total) taking the total tests done so far to 1,125,668 tests.

There are 26 cases of hospital admissions in the last 24 hours taking the total number of patients in the hospital to 268.

No patient was admitted to intensive care, bringing the total number of cases receiving medical attention in intensive care currently to 29.

While the restrictions of COVID-19 are gradually being lifted in Qatar, it is important for everyone to play their role in controlling the virus by following precautionary measures:

- Adherence to physical distancing

- Avoid close contact with others, crowded places, and confined closed spaces where other people congregate

- Wearing a face mask

- Washing hands regularly
