Doha: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education expects about 16,000 new students to enroll in government schools for the forthcoming academic year 2022-23.
“The total number of students in government schools for the next academic year is expected to reach approximately 136,000, about 6,000 more compared to the current academic year,” said Education Adviser at the Schools Affairs Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Rashid Saad Al Mohannadi.
Speaking to Qatar TV yesterday. He said that about 10,000 students of government secondary schools will be graduated in the current academic year 2021-22.
Speaking about the early registration process of students in government schools, Al Mohannadi said: “Parents need not to visit schools for registration. The early registration is available online through website of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at the link https://eduservices.edu.gov.qa/.”
He said that the online service enables parents to register new students, transfer from one government school to other or to move from private school to government school during registration period announced by the Ministry.
“The electronic system for early registering students in government schools for the academic year 2022-23 which opened on May 15 will continue until June 9, 2022,” said Al Mohannadi.
He said that Qatari students, children of Qatari women and students of other GCC states can register until June 9, 2022. “The deadline for early registering students holding Qatari documents, children of expatriates working with ministries, government institutions and charity organisations is May 26, 2022.”
He said that parents are required to apply online through the website of the Ministry for registration and provide the required documents.
“A text message will be sent to parents and guardians notifying them that their children have been registered successfully. In case of rejection, parents need to follow up and submit the required documents to schools,” said Al Mohannadi.
He said that the transfer of student will begin at the end of registration process from May 29, 2022 to June 9 for Qatari students, children of Qatari women and students of other GCC countries.
“The transfer for students of other nationalities will begin June 5 to June 9, 2022,” said Al Mohannadi. He said that registration of new students and transfer from one school to other will be according to the geographical location and seat vacant in the targeted schools.
