Almost 121 business outlets were imposed with penalties and later on ceased for violation of laws by the Ministry of Economy and commerce on August in Qatar. The pointed out violations include
Improper Pricing
Fake item specifications
Selling of items without invoice
Non- display of Arabic Pricing
Price hike without authentication.
Selling of expired items
By the laws and regulations related to consumer rights the outlets were fined from amount ranging from QR 5000 to QR 30000 following a ceasing of the outlet. This action was based on intensive inspection of all the outlets to ensure the proper functioning of theses as per the consumer laws 8 for 2015.
The Ministry ensured a strict control and supervision of the local business and would take necessary actions against violators according to the existing laws.
